Built in Breathalyser
An idea put across by Professor Nutt is to put breathalysers in cars to greatly reduce drink driving offences.
Dr Nutt said that some countries used the in-car breathalysers, known as alcohol ignition interlock devices, to ensure that people convicted of drink-driving don't take to the wheel. The professor reckons to have an even more "radical" idea.
"You could potentially have it so that was true of all cars - everybody would have to breathe in to the device before they were able to drive away," he said.
M23 LAW, experts in drink drive cases, are always contactable for advice in these matters.

Young Males and Black Boxes
New research shows that young male drivers are spending almost a fifth of their annual income on car insurance. The average income for 18-21 year olds is £13,972, and with them spending around £2,499 annually on car insurance, it takes 18% of their income. It has been suggested to put "black boxes" in vehicles to help with young drivers and thereby hopefully gain a reduction in insurance premiums. These boxes would monitor the driving behaviour such as speed, acceleration, braking and cornering to offer discounts on insurance for safer drivers.
