4 out of 5 Motorists admit to speeding

80% of motorists see speed limits as ‘just a guide’ or a ‘challenge’ after a survey by Admiral insurance company. About a quarter of drivers think it is acceptable to drive over the speed limit. Men are almost three times more likely to drive at high speeds than women. More than half of drivers think the national speed limit for motorways and dual carriageways should be 80mph rather than 70mph.
